China and its Foreign Exchange Reserves

I see that from then chart below (posted at ft.com) that China’s foreign exchange reserves are once again climbing. They haven’t climbed enough to have broken the downtrend, and I think the problem addressed at http://gordon-feil-economics.blogspot.ca/2017/02/china-continues-to-bleed-dollars.html still exists.

China isn’t going to blow away in the wind or slide into the sea, but there will be bad economic news from the Orient over the next few years. It remains to be seen how it affects those with whom China does business.  When an injured dinosaur is thrashing around on the ground, some smaller animals can stay out its way, but that tail might easily wallop one that gets in the way.
